Copy Your Favourite Clothes

Tuesday 28th May 18.00 - 21.00

We all have a favourite item of clothing don't we? Whether it's something we get complimented on every time we wear it, or it's the best fitting comfiest thing you can find.... and aren't you just terrified of it wearing out one day? Or wish you had it in more colours?  We we're inspired by the lovely student in the photos above to develop this class who we helped to copy this slinky number. We've nicknamed it 'The Sexy Dress' She's already made it in 2 colours! (Original dress on the left.)

You can bring along your favourite items and we will show you how to copy it and develop a plan for sewing it together.

What you'll need:
We have pattern plastic, dot and cross and all the tools and equipment you need for copying your pattern. We will show you a range of different techniques and help you pick the best for your item. We are also likely to use pattern masters, pins, rulers, tape measures, if you would like to bring your own please feel free to do so. There will not be any sewing in this class.

Everyone's items will be different levels of complexity so we recommend bringing a few items you want to copy so we can work through showing different techniques. You may only get 1 done in the item or you might be able to copy all of them, it depends on what you bring.

Who is this workshop for?
A little sewing experience would be useful for this workshop, so you have a basic understanding of pattern shapes and you will be able to take away the pattern and make your item.  (You can join us in our
Sewing Surgery if you need help making the item following this class.)
