About Us
Make Mee Studio CIC is a sewing social enterprise based in Lewisham, South East London. In a nutshell, we teach sewing and creative classes to children and adults – but we have a number of key threads running through our business.
We run regular weekly classes that can be booked via our website: after-school, weekend and holiday workshops for kids, evening and weekend courses for adults, plus private lessons and creative parties. Alongside these, we regularly deliver funded community-focused and environmentally conscious projects. These might include free mending workshops with Lewisham Council, or lottery-funded beginners' sewing courses for those experiencing isolation or financial hardship.
We're also growing! We’re actively developing our offer for corporates, schools, museums, and cultural institutions, and need someone to help shape and share this journey.
The Role
We’re looking for a creative and self-motivated freelance marketing assistant to help us engage our diverse audience and promote the wide range of things we do. You’ll work closely with our small, friendly team to build authentic content, raise awareness of our brand, and find new ways to communicate our values and offerings.
We’re after someone who brings fresh ideas, fits seamlessly (pun intended) with our friendly, relaxed (and sometimes silly) tone. But, can also confidently communicate the more serious side of what we do – from our environmental impact to our community-driven mission.
What We Can Offer You
A flexible freelance role with freedom to work when it suits you
The opportunity to help shape and build a growing social enterprise
One in-person content creation and planning day per month at our studio in Crofton Park Library, Lewisham (we’re flexible on dates)
The chance to make your mark by helping us reach new audiences, particularly corporates, schools, and cultural institutions
A collaborative working process – we use Trello to keep things organised and in motion
Free sewing lessons, you’re welcome to join any of our sewing courses. (Space permitting!)
