Saturday 10th October 10:30 - 14:30
Join Make Mee Studio and The Sommerville for a fun filled day of upcycling, recycling and repair! Followed by a fun filled fashion show to show off your efforts! This event is open to all, adults and young people - a family fun day! Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
This event is FREE thanks to funding from Lewisham Council and the Youth First Legacy fund!
Booking a spot does not guarantee you a space. It is drop in and first come first served, but feel free to sign up via this link, it will give you an email reminder of when the session is!

They’ll be our usual repair station with sewing machines, yarns, zips and whatever you might need + expert guidance showing you how to repair your items yourself! Just bring along your worn and torn items and we’ll show you how to repair them! -
We’ll also have a station for vinyl printing, you can iron on your own design on to your garments, cover a stain or just update something old and worn.

Or try your hand at some tie dyeing! We’ll have some plain fabric you can dye if you want to try it out or bring your own items to update, if you want to dye you need to bring natural fibre fabrics such as cotton or bamboo.

Stick around until the end! We’ll be hosting a fashion show and you are the stars!
After School Club
Weekly sewing classes held during term time, guided by experienced teachers.
These classes are a great extra curricular activity that will give your child transferable life skills. They will learn to use a sewing machine and loads of other craft and design techniques; appliqué, embroidery, free machining, dressmaking, pattern cutting the list is endless.
We have a range of projects on offer so they can always have a choice of making something they will use and cherish. We love to instill a sense of pride in what they make, and creating things that they will cherish for years to come.

These sessions are suitable for all levels of ability, can be a great extra help for GSCE and A level work and can go towards D of E skills.
All our teachers are DBS checked.

ADvanced Teen Sewing Club
This one is for our teen sewers who want to get serious about their sewing! Maybe you’ve mastered sewing basics and have got the creative vision but just not quite sure how to make it happen? Our experienced facilitators are here to help guide you into the world of fashion and textiles, push the boundaries and let your creativity run wild. A place to share ideas with other like minded peers and learn from and inspire each other.
In these sessions we want to push your skills to make you the best sewer you can be!
We can help with:
Demystify commercial patterns
Tackling advanced projects
Drafting patterns from scratch
Copying your own garments
Upcycling and refashioning
Draping on the stand.
Helping you prepare work for a textiles/fashion portfolio for college or uni.

Suitable for experienced sewers aged 14 - 18 years (not for beginners.) If you’re not sure if you teen is ready for this class please sign up for after school class first.

FreeStyle Sewing Saturdays
We run a morning & afternoon session, once or twice a month!
They’ll get stuck into sewing, crafting and designing projects to instill a sense of confidence and pride. These sessions are open to kids of all sewing abilities, from complete newbies to confident creators. Regardless of their ability, they’ll leave with new knowledge and progress on projects appropriate to their skill level.
This is a great extracurricular activity that will give your child transferable life skills. They’ll learn to use a sewing machine and discover loads of other craft and design techniques.

Open to children in Year 2 and above.
These sessions are suitable for all levels of ability, can be a great extra help for GSCE and A level work and can go towards D of E skills.
This session can also serve as a taster to see if your child would like to sign up for our After School Club or Holiday Classes.
Please note, unlike Holiday Class sessions we cannot offer childcare in between the morning and afternoon class.

HOliday Classes
Come and make clothes or accessories during the holidays. We always let our students choose from a huge range of projects so they make something they love and want to cherish!
We provide the fabric, patterns and ideas and your child can make magic, we have a whole host of projects to choose from, great for beginners/ intermediate.
Hand sewing and machine sewing projects will be on offer from cushions to jumpsuits and everything in between.
Book for multiple sessions to make more adventurous things!

October half Term runs from 26th October - 30th October
9.00 - 12.00 and 13.00 - 16.00.Sign up to our mailing list to learn about future class dates.
If a sessions is full make sure you sign up to the waiting list and you will be notified if a space comes up.

We now have a basket system (yay) so select the dates you want, how many tickets for the dates and then head to the checkout.
£30.00 for 3 hours of freestyle sewing.
£3.00 lunchtime cover if needed for people booking half day sessions is also available - please email for information.

ALL Children’s Courses will be refunded in full if cancelled 14 days before the workshop. If it is less than 14 days, a full refund will be given provided we can fill the place booked. If it cannot be filled we can’t guarentee that we can refund or reschedule you. If the cancellation is due to illness, we do not guarantee to offer a credit.
Private Lessons
You can book a private session for up to 1 or 2 people too. Get dedicated help for starting your sewing journey or delve into tricky techniques with one of our expert facilitators.
Daytime Class for Homeschooled Young People
We're looking for young people age 7 - 16 who want to join us for a 6 week trial of day time sewing sessions. Designed with home schooled children in mind. With the option to carry on the sessions if the trial is successful!
Sewing will give your young people a useful life skill; being able to make, upcycle and repair their own clothes. But it also boosts their confidence, design, mathematics, problem solving skill and of course gives them a place to sewcialise with other like minded creatives.
The class is for beginners or more intermediate learners. We have a huge range of projects our makers can choose from toys, to homewares, accessories and clothing. Our ethos is to get them making items they will love and use.
We have over 10 years experience teaching sewing and creative projects for young people. Our tutors have DBS checks, first aid and safeguarding training.
Proposed time: Thursdays 10:30 - 11.55 Start date TBC - aiming for October 2026
(We can be fairly flexible on days/times once we have a group together)£108 for 6 weeks. All materials included.

We host free drop-in mending sessions around Lewisham each month, open to grown-ups and kids aged 8+ of all levels of sewing.
